Man held for murder

CHENNAI: The Maduravoyal police on Saturday arrested and remanded to custody a person in connection with the murder of 30-year-old woman Poongavanam on Friday.

According to the police, the man, a resident of Kannadapalayam near Kishkinta in Tambaram, had taken the extreme step after the victim had persuaded him to marry her. He confessed that he had drugged her before killing her.
