Assembly session to be suspended on March 24 and 25

CHENNAI: The ongoing Assembly session will be suspended on March 24 and 25 to enable Ministers and MLAs to supervise relief works in rain-affected areas in their constituencies. This was announced by Speaker R. Avudaiappan here on Saturday.
Addressing media persons, Mr. Avudaiappan said Chief Minister had directed the Ministers and MLAs to activate relief operations in their areas.
On suggestions from leaders of various legislative parties and members of Business Advisory Committee, the Assembly session, as per Rule 26 (2), would be suspended for two days from March 24. The Assembly would meet on March 26. Business that had to be transacted on March 24 and 25 would be taken up on March 26 and 27, he added.
