Felix to lead IB

CHENNAI: Goalkeeper S. Felix Edward will captain Indian Bank, the local CFA senior division champion, for the team’s campaign in the ONGC I-league second division football matches to be held in Kolhapur from March 25 to April 12.

Indian Bank is placed in Group ‘B’ along with Mohammedan Sporting, Mumbai FC, Amity United FC (Haryana), Osean’s New Delhi Heroes and Oil India (Assam).

The team: Goalkeepers: B. Uday Shankar, A. Vimal Raj; Defenders: Joseph Anthony Noel, S. Sathishkumar, A. Suman Raj, Nanao Yumnam, J. Anandavasan, T. Karthikeyanll; M idfielders: Chanchal Saha, M. Subhash Singh, M. Karthikeyan, Sayantan Das Roy, S. Santhakumar, Vikuzo Shotso, T.H. Roshnan Singh; Forwards: R. Amalraj, M. Ramesh, Lalchhan Chhauaha, S. Parthiban. Chief coach: Syed Sabir Pasha; Assistant coach: Roque Noel D’ Siva; Manager: Kathiravan Prasad.

Play washed out

Rain washed out the second day’s play of the TNCA first division cricket league on Saturday. Inclement weather had ruled out play on the first day as well in the 11th and final round.

Matches postponed

All the TNCA lower division league cricket matches scheduled on March 23 (Sunday), March 29 and 30 stand postponed.

Similarly, the Canara Bank-Kancheepuram DCA league cricket matches scheduled on March 23 (Sunday) stand postponed due to inclement weather.

Final put off

The final of the RMK Trophy inter-Engineering collegiate tournament between host RMK and Eswari Colleges, scheduled for March 21, could not be played because of heavy rain. The fresh date and venue will be announced later.

Cricket coaching
