Kozhikode book fair begins today

Kozhikode: The DC Books will organise a book fair at the CSI Hall in Kozhikode from Monday to Saturday. The fair will exhibit books from India and abroad.

“We are arranging a wide spectrum of internationally acclaimed books from contemporary celebrities published by leading publishers,” M. Siddharthan, DC Books manager in Kozhikode, said.

The publishers taking part in the fair include Penguin, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Macmillan, Harper Collins, Vintage, Orient, Longman, Viva Books, Routledge and Pustak Mahal. “There will be an exclusive collection of English books. Individuals will be offered a minimum discount of 10 per cent on books in English,” he said.

A discount of 10 to 20 per cent will be given on purchases in Malayalam. Libraries will be offered at least one-third money off on all Malayalam titles.

Price cut on English books for libraries will be based on the total purchase, Mr. Siddharthan said.

Books on fiction, language and literature; cultural studies; history; social studies, film studies; religion; art; architecture; women studies; autobiographies; new age; health; management; economics; development studies; sports; self-help; business; and cookery will be displayed at the stalls.

Interactive and multimedia compact discs will also be available, he said.
