‘Law and social justice’ was the theme of the contests PUDUCHERRY: The Union Territory of Puducherry Legal Services Authority has announced the results of the essay and elocution competitions on the topic ‘Law and social justice’ conducted recently as part of the National Legal Literacy Day celebrations. At the school-level event, S. Sivasankari and Kareemannissa of St. Joseph of Cluny Higher Secondary School, won the first prize in the essay competition in Tamil and English respectively. Vinayaga Murthy and G. Ariful Hera of Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School came first in the elocution competition in Tamil and English respectively, a press release said. Sendhil Murugan and Varadharajan of Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College received the first prize in the essay competition in Tamil and English respectively. Narmada of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences bagged the first prize in elocution competition in Tamil and English, the release said. Justice P.K. Misra, Judge of Madras High Court and Executive Chairman of the Puducherry Legal Services Authority, distributed the prizes at a function held here on Saturday, the release added.
