HUBLI: Selected Youth Congress workers from five districts of north Karnataka will be interacting with general secretary of All India Congress Committee Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Dharwad district from Wednesday. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, former Minister and Congress leader R.V. Deshpande said that Youth Congress activists from Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Belgaum and Uttara Kannada districts were free to discuss any issue, including that of the party, during Mr. Gandhi’s visit. Task forceMr. Deshpande said that members of the task force set up by Mr. Gandhi had reached Dharwad and were working on his itinerary. Mr. Gandhi will arrive in Hubli on Wednesday evening. The next day he will visit the NTTF Technical Training Centre in Dharwad and interact with students. Later, he would tour various places in the twin cities and interact with weavers, farmers, daily wage employees, Dalits, members of minority communities and others before leaving for Gadag, Mr. Deshpande said. He said that the objective of Mr. Gandhi’s visit was to know the ground realities and invite the youth to enter politics. To a query, the former Minister clarified that Mr. Gandhi’s visit was part of his nationwide tour and had nothing to do with the elections. However, the Congress would make use of his visit to strengthen the party, he said.
