Two other fishermen yet to be located Fishermen say they lost their way in the rough sea KASARAGOD: Three of the five fishermen who were reported missing after they put to sea from Keezhoor beach on Friday returned safely at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Those who returned are Chandran, Gangadharan and Vasanthan, all natives of Kezhoor beach. The other two fishermen, Gopalan and Varghese, who were in a separate boat, have not been located yet. Search is on to locate them. While Mr. Gopalan is a native of Kezhoor, Mr. Varghese is a native of Thiruvanamthapuram. Those who returned were saved by a rescue team of fishermen. The rescue team named Kilnet is an initiative of local fishermen who specialise in rescue operations. The fishermen said they had lost their way in the rough seas and were drifting for hours after the fuel was exhausted. They were drifting in an unknown direction when the rescue team arrived. The fishermen complained that the Coast Guard did not conduct effective search operations. However, the authorities said Coast Guard ships were conducting search in the deep seas and would expedite search operations when the weather conditions improved.
