Elephant owners not to provide elephants

Guruvayur: The Kerala Elephant Owners’ Federation decided at a meeting here on Saturday not to provide elephants for festivals such as Thrissur Pooram if the Kerala Captive Elephants (Management and Maintenance) Rules were misinterpreted to check display of captive elephants. Federation president K. B. Ganesh Kumar and general secretary P. Sasi Kumar said a section of people were misinterpreting the rules and creating confusion.
