Panic after bursting of television sets

Thanjavur: Television sets in nearly 50 houses in Udayalur village near Kumbakonam burst and emitted smoke creating panic among the people on Sunday.

People rushed out of their houses.

Electrical appliances like grinder, mixie, tube lights and cell phones which were put on charge went out of order.

High voltage flow was said to be the reason for the bursting of television sets.
