Indian cricketers visit SportsMechanics

Chennai: Indian team’s pace bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and several cricketers visited SportsMechanics, a Chennai-based firm that deals with video technology and analysis.

SportsMechanics is also the BCCI’s Digital Asset Management centre. Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Jaffer, Murali Kartik, and Ishant Sharma were among the cricketers who visited SportsMechanics after the Indian team’s practice session here on Sunday.

S. Ramakrishnan, CEO, SportsMechanics, said the cricketers were keen to know about the umpires’ programme instituted by the board. Prasad, he said, was impressed with the facilities.

Kartik and Ishant, recovering from injuries, were at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium to have their fitness assessed by the support staff. Both, however, have been ruled out of the first Test. — Special Correspondent
