Movement to restore social values

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Concerned over the country’s deteriorating system of values and the incidents of corruption, eminent personalities such as Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata and Delhi Metro MD E. Sreedharan have initiated a “National Value Inculcation Movement” to attempt a restoration of social and cultural values.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Sreedharan attributed the success of the Delhi metro project to values such as punctuality, integrity and professional competence instilled in its employees. Spiritual leader Swami Bhoomananda Tirthaji said that the aim was to persuade national leaders to re-associate themselves with the country’s time-tested values.
