BPS extension sought

The Visakhapatnam Apartments Residents’ Welfare Association at its meeting at Maddilapalem on Sunday wanted the regularisation fee for the building penalisation scheme (BPS) under GO 112 to be reduced to a nominal amount from the steep Rs.20,000 for a flat and also extend the time for applying by a year. MLC M.V.S. Sarma who presided spoke about the unbearable burden on apartment residents owing to the heavy penalty. The meeting deplored the burden being put on residents while sparing the builder, according to convener B. Venkateswarlu. Vice-president G.V.Kumar spoke.
