BMTC staff run over

BANGALORE: A Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) “chargeman” was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus ran over him at the Indiranagar bus depot on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the victim as Gangadhara (53). The police said that the incident occurred when the bus, which was being attended to by Muniappa (34), suddenly went into neutral gear and ran over Gangadhara who was behind the bus.

Indiranagar police arrested Muniappa. He was released on bail. A case has been registered.

Accident

A 22-year-old man was killed on the spot when a lorry hit him while he was riding his motorcycle near Yelahanka railway underbridge on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the victim as Mohammed Jennis.

The police said Jennis was riding the two-wheeler without a helmet when the accident took place.

Yelahanka police have registered a case.
