Women’s Day celebrated

Chennai: The Sakambari Women’s Group celebrated International Women’s Day and its fifth anniversary on Saturday.

An exhibition depicting the achievements of notable Indian women and the important role played by women in today’s society was organised. Cultural programmes were also held.

Tamil writer and chief guest Usha Subramanian called for cooperation and better understanding among women, said a press release.
