THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A two- day national seminar on ethno musicology will be held here from March 25 under the joint auspices of the Kerala Folklore Academy, Kumaranasan National Institute for Culture and South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavoor. The event will feature performance of ethnic art forms like Sopana Sangeetham, Thottampattu, Mulamchenda, Mudiyattam, Ertuthumkali, Chonam kali, Kambadikkali, Mappila sangeetham, Pulluva sangeetham, Pulayar pattu, Charadu pinnikkali, Mariyattam, Theyyam and Irula dance. Noted musicians and troupes such as Nheralath Harigovindan and Dravida Kalasamithy, Kasaragod, are scheduled to perform. A lecture-cum-demonstration by Hindustani musician Ramesh Narayanan is another highlight. Poet O.N.V. Kurup will inaugurate the seminar on Tuesday.
