PUDUCHERRY: The SSLC examinations for students in 165 schools in Puducherry will be held from March 27 to April 10.

According to a release issued by the School Education Directorate, the examinations would be held in 32 centres. Nearly 12,745 students (6,239 boys and 6,506 girls) from 77 government schools, 87 private schools and a special school would take the examination.

Around 1,880 private candidates would appear for the SSLC examinations. The department has appointed 800 invigilators for the purpose. To prevent malpractices, seven flying squads have been set up under the supervision of the Chief Education Officer.

Similarly, the public examinations for the Matriculation Board would be held from March 25 to April 10 in 12 centres. Over 1,250 students from 13 matriculation schools would sit for the examinations.

The students would be given an additional time of 10 minutes to read the question paper, the release said.
