Farmer murdered

VILLUPURAM: P. Shanmugham (59), a farmer and resident of A. Pandalam near Sankarapuram, was allegedly murdered by a group at his house on Monday. According to the police, his wife Rajathi (40) lodged a complaint saying that on Monday, some persons knocked the door and when her husband opened it, attacked him with iron rods and bricks.

She ran out to get help. But, before she could return, Shanmugham was killed and his body was thrown on the Kallakurichi—Thiruvannamalai road.
