Belgaum
Belgaum: Three youths were arrested by the Belgaum district police on charges of printing counterfeit currency notes. According to Superintendent of Police Hemant Nimbalkar, Thimanna Ningannavar was arrested along with fake notes worth Rs.70,000 of Rs. 500 denomination. Shivanand Pujari and Davansab Nadaf were arrested from a hotel in the city on March 21. All the three accused are from Kankanawadi of Jamkhandi taluk in Bagalkot district. The trio installed a computer, scanner and a high-resolution colour printer to print fake notes. — Staff Correspondent
