World Tuberculosis Day observed

Nagercoil: The World Tuberculosis Day was observed by Athencottasan Muthamizh Kazhagam at Naduvoorkarai near Mandaicadu on Monday.

Awareness programmes were conducted in Kurunthencode, Rajakkamangalam, Agastheeswaram, Thovalai and Thuckalay blocks.

It has been decided to conduct this awareness programme for a week from Monday.

The AMK has fixed the target of creating awareness among 10,000 people in different parts of the district within a week about the evils of tuberculosis.

More than 500 people, including members of self-help groups, attended the awareness programme on Monday at Rajakkamangalam block.
