VISAKHAPATNAM: It was a power-packed, electrifying event as students from various colleges gathered at the VUDA Children’s Theatre to participate in the first anniversary celebrations of Avanthi Association for Vibrant Electricals on Monday.

Interesting concept

As part of the celebrations a technical quiz programme and a smart movie presentation contest were conducted.

The ‘smart movie’ presentation saw some interesting social themes being highlighted by the students. Each group prepared a three-minute video skit on a socially relevant issue.

Roller coaster ride

The quiz session started off with the elimination round. Around 40 teams participated in the event out of which five were selected for the finals.

It was a roller-coaster ride through the world of business and current affairs, as the contestants were quizzed on topics ranging from the wacky ad campaigns, cinema, sports and new age management mantras.

Career opportunities

Regional Head of Union Bank of India Charamana K.C. who was the chief guest on the occasion spoke about the career opportunities in the banking sector.

He stressed on the need to participate in such inter-collegiate programmes to enhance soft skills.

Deputy General Manager, Power Distribution Steel Plant, N. Hari Haran, Head of Dept. of Electrical Engineering, AU, Prof. K. Gopala Rao and chairman of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology M. Srininasa Rao were present.
