Curfew continues in Chittorgarh

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The curfew in communal violence-hit Chittorgarh in Rajasthan continued for the third day on Monday, though the situation showed some signs of improvement. The district administration indicated that the curfew would be relaxed for a couple of hours on Tuesday.

The police, who arrested 42 people, organised a peace committee meeting. They shortlisted 25 elderly people from both communities to restore harmony. Students of secondary classes were allowed to appear in the annual Board examinations on the basis of their admission cards. There was no fresh incident of violence.
