Rahul to hold road shows

Gargi Parsai

NEW DELHI: Congress Working Committee member and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Monday dodged a question on price rise, just before a meeting of the Publicity and Publications Committee at the AICC headquarters here.

Asked to comment on the situation over which there was concern in the party, Mr. Gandhi said, “I will answer your questions in Karnataka.”

He did not take questions after the hour-long meeting either, but said he would be visiting election-bound Karnataka from March 25 to 29.

During his five-day tour he is scheduled to address public rallies in Bangalore and Mangalore. He will visit B.R. Hills in Chamarajanagar district near Bangalore and later meet members of Soliga tribes at the Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra (VGKK).

Road shows

He will hold road shows and have interaction with his party workers at Yelandur, Santhemaralli, Ummathore, Kavalande and Begur en route to Nagarahole, where he will stay overnight.

During his visit, he will study the conditions of tribals and what could be done to improve their lot.

He would also hold a meeting with engineers of an electronics training centre in Dharwad before interacting with the cotton growers and the leaders of the co-operative movement in the region.

Later chairman of the panel Digvijay Singh said the price rise issue was discussed in the Publicity and Publications Committee meeting.

The party will soon come up with a comparison of the situation now and during the National Democratic Alliance rule
