KOCHI: Support equipment for nearly 600 physically challenged persons will be distributed on March 26. The Social Welfare Standing Committee of the Kochi Corporation will organise the event at Town Hall at 10 a.m., said Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams. Talking to mediapersons, Ms. Williams said the Corporation has spent around Rs.2.50 crore for the welfare of the physically challenged. The 600-odd beneficiaries of the scheme were identified during the two-day camp organised on January 14 and 18. Nearly 200 physically challenged and 400 hearing and vision impaired persons will receive the support equipment at the function.
