From the Revenue Fund, the local body was expecting Rs.30.68 crore against Rs.26.60 in the current fiscal.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam councillors led by former MLA C. Sivasamy staged a walkout in protest against the proposed hike in property tax. Criticising the Corporation for not according priority to schools and hospitals, he said the budget was not constructive.
