Bail us out, farmers urge Stalin

Staff Reporter

TIRUNELVELI: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin had to encounter inconsolably crying farmers, who are just clueless about coming out of the huge loss they are now facing due to the recent torrential rain and consequent unprecedented crop damage, during his visit in the flood-affected areas of the district on Monday.

Urging the Minister to bail them out of this piquant situation at the earliest by announcing an adequate compensation package, the affected agriculturists also appealed to him to instruct the cooperative banks to give crop loans at the rate of four per cent interest.
