Funeral procession peaceful

VILLUPURAM: The funeral procession of Therasammal (70), a Dalit Christian who died two days ago, passed off peacefully at Eraiyur near Ulundurpet on Monday.

The body was carried in the ‘thoomba (funeral car)’ through the common path to the church and buried after completion of the rituals.

A strong contingent of police was present at the village.
