Two-year RI for paramedical staff

DINDIGUL: Judicial Magistrate Court-II on Monday awarded two-year rigorous imprisonment to a Lab Assistant of the Primary Health Centre at Kannivadi in a harassment case.

The prosecution stated that Sahaya Mary (22) had gone to the PHC on August 22, 2002, for treatment. Navaneedhakrishnan (52) misbehaved and tried to harass her.

She immediately lodged a complaint with the Kannivadi police.

The lab assistant was arrested and produced before the court.

Judicial Magistrate Court Judge A. Radhakrishnan said the case had been proved beyond doubt. — Staff Reporter
