THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Trivandrum Residents’ Apex Council (TRAC) has appealed to the Revenue Minister to ensure that the Kerala State Housing Board (KSHB) either shape up or shut shop. The board’s financial position is so dire that it has to take loans to meet its daily expenses. Housing schemes for marginalised sections of society have been sidelined by it as not much corruption is possible in houses built for Rs.75,000 or Rs.1 lakh, a press note issued by the council said. The board has not pursued the construction of the Habitat Centre as HUDCO had objected to the board deciding on the land value of the plot handed over by the Kowdiar Palace, the press note said.
