Training programme concludes

NAMAKKAL: Collector G. Sundaramurthi distributed certificates to 181 women who underwent a 45-day training programme in sewing under a scheme of Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the district administration would initiate steps to provide Rs. 10,000 as loan if the women formed groups to start micro level enterprises. A maximum loan amount of Rs. 1 lakh would be extended for starting enterprises at large level.
Stating that the level of confidence among women in the district had increased, Mr. Sundaramurthi said that two self help groups from Namakkal won prizes in the exhibition held at the national level in New Delhi.
District Revenue Officer G. Govindaraj, Superintendent of Police John Nicholson, District Backward Class Welfare Officer R. Maheshwaran and senior officials were present.
