‘Aim is to eliminate matka’

DAVANGERE: Superintendent of Police Sonia Narang has said that after the elections, she would initiate steps to prevent “matka” in the district and discipline vehicular movement.

Ms. Sonia, who took over as Superintendent of Police on Tuesday told presspersons that as the elections were round the corner, her first priority was to hold the elections in a free and fair manner.

She said she would soon convene a meeting of leaders of all major political parties and take them into confidence. She said she would instruct them to abide by the guidelines of the Election Commission.
