Sarpanches threaten stir

ADILABAD: The AP Panchayati Sarpanches Sangham, Adilabad branch on Tuesday threatened to stage a blockade at district Collectorate followed by a chalo Hyderabad agitation in May in case the Government does not restore powers and funds to gram panchayats and sarpanches. The Sangham maintained that the present Government has systematically eroded the powers of local bodies for political ends.

Sangham district president Saudani Bhumanna Yadav said dates of the agitational programme will be decided later.
