BJP to contest all seats in the next General elections alone Brushes aside claims that separate State will increase naxalism MAHABUBNAGAR: Bharatiya Janata party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said that regional parties with a few number of seats cannot achieve separate Telangana State. Speaking to reporters at Kalwakurthy town on Tuesday, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu who came to address BJP political training classes said that it was proved in the case of Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) as it failed to achieve Telangana State even after lobbying for four years with the Union Government. He claimed that BJP alone could achieve Telangana and appealed to the people to cast their vote in favour of BJP candidates in 2009 elections. He said that BJP would contest all the 42 parliament seats and 294 Assembly seats in the State alone without forging alliance with any party. Venkaiah Naidu claimed that BJP alone has a clear cut stand on creating a separate State for Telangana adding that Telangana would be formed within three months after coming to power in 2009 elections. “Congress did not spell out its stand on Telangana till date as divergent opinions are being expressed within the party and TDP is dilly-dallying on the issue”, he said. He brushed aside the apprehensions of a section of leaders that if Telangana State was formed Naxalites would regain strength and small States lag behind in development. “Naxalism is prevailant in other States also. Naxalism is a political philosophy it can be tackled politically”, he said. Venkaiah Naidu said that Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh which were formed during NDA Government were fast developing “with 119 Assembly segments and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies Telangana State would be a big State when compared to many smaller States,” he said. BJP district president K. Yadagiri Reddy and others were present.
