PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Agriculture Department and Allied Organisations’ Most Backward Class Employees Welfare Association demanded the scrapping of the Common Entrance Test for admission to professional courses from this year. Instead, the marks obtained in the Plus Two examinations should be considered for the admission to engineering and medical courses, the association said in a release. Similar to reservation in employment opportunities, the association demanded reservation for the Most Backward Classes for promotions. The following members have been elected to the association: president - N. Jayakumar, general secretary - M. Kaliamurthy and treasurer- A. Bhakthavatsalam.
