DEHRA DUN: The Uttarakhand Election Commission has notified the election schedule for urban local bodies in the State. Announcing this here on Tuesday, State Election Commissioner R. K. Verma said the model election code had come into effect and all preparations had been made for free and fair elections. Nominations will be accepted from March 28 to April 1 and will be scrutinised on April 2 . Names can be withdrawn on April 3. Symbols will be allotted on April 4 and polling will take place on April 19. Counting of votes will take place on April 21. The Election Commissioner has directed all District Magistrates to ensure implementation of the model code of conduct and take action against anyone trying to vitiate the atmosphere.
