Chief Minister to visit Bapatla on March 30

GUNTUR: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will participate in a slew of programmes at Bapatla during his visit scheduled for March 30. Besides unveiling of two pylons to mark the commencement of drinking water schemes, laying of new CC roads and power cables at a cost of Rs.24 crores, Dr. Reddy will inaugurate several facilities at Bapatla Engineering College and address a public meeting.

Dr. Reddy will land on the college premises at about 2.30 p.m. and proceed to inaugurate the Information Technology Block, a state-of-the-art digital studio, with facilities for simultaneous on-line transmissions to 15 classrooms and a canteen.

He will then travel by road to inaugurate a unique air-conditioned farm house on the premises of Bapatla Pharmacy College.

The Chief Minister would inaugurate a pylon erected opposite the Telephone Exchange at Daggumalivaripalem and a foundation stone for laying new CC roads at a cost of Rs.15 crores.

Public meet

He would also inaugurate another pylon at the Municipal Office complex to mark the commencement of developmental works, including works relating to provision of drinking water and laying of CC roads.

He would address a public meeting on the Bapatla Arts College premises before winding up his visit.

Amid speculations that the Chief Minister might visit Guntur too, senior district officials confirmed that the visit on March 30 would be confined to Bapatla and the Chief Minister might visit Guntur on April 10.Local MLA Gade Venkata Reddy, District Congress Committee president M. Seshagiri Rao, district Collector B. Venkatesham and Superintendent of Police reviewed the arrangements.
