Two held with 75 bags of rice

GUNTUR: Two persons were arrested and 75 bags of rice meant for public distribution system were seized at Oppicherla in Guntur district while they were being transported from Macherla to Piduguralla in a lorry.

In the second such seizure in the last one week, the Gurazala Circle Inspector, along with other personnel, intercepted the lorry and sought to see the consignment papers.

On their failure to produce proper documents, the lorry was confiscated with the load. The lorry driver and another person accompanying the stock were arrested.

They would be produced in court on Wednesday.
