Honour for Adoor film

Thiruvananthapuram: The Belgian Royal Film Archive has chosen Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Naalu Pennungal’ as one of the 20 best films in its global selection of quality films marked for authenticity, peculiarity of purpose and novelty of treatment. These films will compete for the prestigious L’age d’Or (Golden Age) prize, named after Luis Bunuel’s masterpiece, in the festival’s 33rd edition this year to be held in Brussels in July. Films featured in the event would also be acquired by the film archive, Mr. Gopalakrishnan said in a statement here. — Special Correspondent
