KSEB detects power theft of Rs.5.6 crore

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has detected power theft to the tune of Rs.5.6 crore during the four months from November to February.
A statement from the board said officials conducted inspections on 6,160 premises during the period. A total of 349 theft cases were detected. The inspections revealed irregularities in 1,111 cases.
The board announced a change in the number for registration of complaints. The new number is 155333. The change has been made in tune with the new guidelines issued by the Department of Telecommunications, the statement said.
