Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A private junior college lecturer Bapu Reddy allegedly raped a minor labourer after engaging her to work in his house for the day on Tuesday at Neredmet. He was arrested.

Neredmet Inspector A. Balakoti said, Reddy hailed from Warangal and lived in a rented house at Vajpayeenagar. He was a married man with two children. His wife and children were away at their village for summer vacation.

In the morning, the 14-year-old girl from Nirmalanagar came to sweep the house. He allegedly confined the girl and assaulted her. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the police picked up Reddy.
