About 2,990 candidates are competing for 600 posts GUNTUR: Majority of the 2,990 candidates aspiring to join the Border Security Force underwent a physical screening test on Tuesday at Brahmananda Reddy Stadium. The recruitment rally will be organised from Wednesday to Saturday. The State Youth Services Department coordinated training the candidates and organising the recruitment rally at the stadium. Of the 600 posts to be filled through this rally 300 will be in the naxalite-prone areas and 300 in other places of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates from all coastal districts attended the screening test. Running testThey will participate in the one-mile running test on Wednesday morning on the Guntur-Chilakaluripet National Highway No. 5 at Mile Stone No.32. STEP Chief Executive Officer V. Mark said all the candidates qualified in the screening must assemble at the venue at 6.30 a.m. and the one-mile running test would commence at 7 a.m.. Following incessant rains for the past four days the stadium ground has become unsuitable for the one-mile running test. Hence it was shifted to the National Highway. Meanwhile, Mr. Mark appealed to candidates from the district to apply for recruitment of constables in the Police Department before March 29 and those needed training for physical fitness would be given training. All successful candidates at the physical fitness test would be provided training for written test, Mr. Mark added.
