Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has described K.T. Mohammed as a “natakacharya” and said his contributions to Malayalam literature and theatre will always be remembered. In a message, he said Mr. Mohammed, as a writer and a director, showed an affinity towards revolution and attached much importance to the emancipation of the poor. He fought a fearless battle against religious fundamentalism and social evils. His contributions as chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation and the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi were unforgettable. CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said that Mr. Mohammed had used the drama as a tool for bringing together the minds of the people at a level which was above the divisions created by religions. LDF convener Vaikkom Viswan said Mr. Mohammed had dedicated his life for resisting the injustice and superstitions around his world.
