Police officer gets jail term
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An anti-corruption court here sentenced a police official to three years rigorous imprisonment after he was found guilty of accepting bribe from a suspect in a sex racket case. Vigilance Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge K. Sasidharan Nair, found Deputy Superintendent of Police M.G. Chandramohan of accepting Rs.40,000 from Robert of Kollam for deleting his name from the list of suspects in the infamous Kollam Palm Lagoon sex racket case. The court also fined Mr. Chandramohan Rs.10,000. The retired policemen will have to serve an additional six months in jail if he fails to remit the fine. — Staff Reporter
