Srinivas APCC president

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: D. Srinivas, Higher Education Minister, was appointed Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president on Tuesday ending a six-month-long wait for filling a vacancy after his predecessor K. Keshava Rao resigned following his son’s involvement in a murder case.

Mr. Srinivas’ appointment to the post was announced by State in-charge Veerappa Moily. In a interaction with the media, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy said: “Mr. Srinivas is a good omen for me. We were a winning combination in the last elections and we hope to repeat the performance in the next polls.”
