Demonstration in Lucknow

Lucknow: Tibetan exiles staged a demonstration before the Vidhan Bhavan here in protest against the Chinese crackdown on protesters in Tibet.

Carrying posters and placards condemning the “brutal methods” adopted by the Chinese authorities to crush the protests by monks, the Tibetan exiles raised anti-China slogans.

They demanded that human rights groups and other independent organisations be allowed into Tibet to monitor the situation there.

The demonstrators also appealed to international medical organisations such as the Red Cross to provide immediate medical help to those injured in Tibet. — PTI
