Court treats Trust’s writ petition as closed

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has said it will be proper for the Sivagiriyar Trust, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai, to seek appropriate directions in an original petition already filed.

Justice Prabha Sridevan treated as closed a writ petition filed by the Trust because it had raised disputed questions of fact for which it could get a decision in the original petition filed.

The Trust, represented by its beneficiary N. Jagannathan, filed the writ petition directing the official respondents, acting as its guardian and trustees, to stop the illegal construction of flats and commercial buildings on 7.74 acres at Virugambakkam belonging to it by Shymala Studios Pvt.Ltd and Ceebros, unlawful sale of leased out lands and recover the property to the Trust.
