Principals against online exam

Kakinada: Hacking of website(s) through which Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) conducts online examinations for engineering students, was observed to be rampant by some participants in the Principals Meet of affiliated colleges of JNTU Engineering College (JEC), Kakinada, held here on Tuesday.

Presiding over the meeting, JEC Principal E.V. Prasad replied that the issue was raised by the principals and faculty members of affiliated colleges on several occasions. J

NTU headquarters was appraised of the matter, he said, and added that he would once again take it up with higher officials to check the menace which affects both the student community and credibility of the JNTU.

The meeting has discussed about conducting of regular examinations, changes/improvements to be made in the syllabus and valuation of answer papers among other issues. The JEC, Kakinada is the nodal centre for 53 affiliated engineering colleges in its purview. Sixteen colleges were added to the list in the academic year 2007-08.

JEC Vice-Principal B Prabhakar Rao and coordinator G Abbaiah were among those present.
