SIT to probe fake varsities in U.P.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday handed over the inquiry into the running of “fake” universities in the State to the Special Investigation Team. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting after reports that 10 fake universities were running in the State, State Secretary Home Mahesh Gupta said. He said necessary directives had been given to SIT Additional Director-General in this regard.
