Special counters to pay motor vehicle tax

PUDUCHERRY: The Transport Department will open special counters in its premises to facilitate payment of motor vehicle tax for the year ending March 31, 2009.

A release from the department said one such counter would be opened from April 1 to 4 and another one from April 7 to 10.

Vehicle owners could avail themselves of the opportunity to pay one time tax, the release said.

The payment made after April 10 would attract fine as per the Motor Vehicles Act, the release added.
