AIADMK demonstration at Hogenakkal today

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Volunteers of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will organise a demonstration in Hogenakkal on March 27 (Thursday) demanding speedy implementation of the drinking water supply scheme and condemning claims being made by some political parties in Karnataka on Hogenakkal.

In a statement here on Wednesday, party general secretary Jayalalithaa said the border between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka was well defined during the British regime and areas claimed by Karnataka parties were well within Tamil Nadu. Karnataka had no right to demand Hogenakkal.

Criticising attempts by Karnataka parties to sabotage the drinking water supply scheme, Ms. Jayalalithaa also condemned the Tamil Nadu government for not taking any steps to protect the interest of the State.
