MLA-Minister spat out in the open

HYDERABAD: The differences between Puttur Congress MLA G. Muddukrishnama Naidu and Minister R. Chenga Reddy came out in the open on Wednesday with Mr. Naidu criticising the latter for interfering in the constituency affairs and putting on hold works on a road under bridge that would serve more than 25,000 people.

Reacting to Mr. Chenga Reddy’s charge that he was a former TD man, Mr. Naidu asserted that he was proud to be associated with TD founder N.T. Rama Rao.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Muddukrishnam Naidu criticised Mr. Chenga Reddy for mounting pressure on the officials concerned not to commence works on the road under bridge that was approved by the Railways. Tenders had been called and Railways had its part of work completed. The Minister, however, was not allowing the work to progress owing to “vaastu” considerations as his residence was on the road where the RUB would be located.
